NOTR - Lincoln, Trump & Libertarianism - 2.2.16

Today's Show: LINCOLN, TRUMP & LIBERTARIANISM

Chris discusses several emails from listeners who have expressed concerns over the presidential campaign of Donald Trump and the massive support he has received from Evangelical Christians.  Is Trump the best choice for believers?  Is he sincere?  Some believe that a more libertarian candidate like Rand Paul is the better choice.  But what is Libertarianism?  And can it really work in our country today, with all the different groups competing for control over the U.S. Constitution?  Also discussed is a powerful warning from Abraham Lincoln that some believe applies to our nation today.

NOTR - Murdoch, Fox & Open Borders - 1.29.16

Today's Show: MURDOCH, FOX & OPEN BORDERS

Chris follows up on the controversy between Donald Trump and Fox News, since Trump announced that he would not appear in the Republican debate.  Breitbart News has uncovered an additional layer to the conflict, now discovering that Fox's owner, Rupert Murdoch (who has opposed Trump from the beginning) is an advocate for open borders.  Both Murdoch and Michael Bloomberg are responsible for an organization called Partnership for a New American Economy -- a group dedicated to the cause of granting legal status to illegal aliens who are currently living in the U.S.  Could this be the real reason behind all the friction between Trump and Fox News?

NOTR - Trump, Politics & Christianity - 1.27.16

Today's Show: TRUMP, POLITICS & CHRISTIANITY

Chris discusses some of the current controversies surrounding Donald Trump and his campaign to become president of the United States.  Why is the establishment (both Democrat and Republican) so opposed to him?  Also covered is the petition to have Trump banned from the United Kingdom because of his comments about a temporary ban on Muslims coming to the U.S.  The members of Parliament called Trump nearly every insulting name they could muster, including "idiot," "buffoon," and even a "wazzock" (?)  But all of this raises a most important question in the Church community: should Christians be involved in politics?

NOTR - Flavel & The Ungodly Nation - 1.22.16

Today's Show: FLAVEL & THE UNGODLY NATION

Chris continues his discussion of the Biblical warnings concerning what happens to a nation that forgets God.  In the 17th century, a Puritan minister named John Flavel published his "Warnings to an Ungodly Nation," describing the process of how the Lord warns a nation beforehand, so that they might repent before entering into judgment.  Flavel argues that because God does not change, His warnings apply in every generation.

NOTR - Political Protestantism - 1.20.16

Today's Show: POLITICAL PROTESTANTISM

Chris continues his discussion on Common Sense & the Biblical Book of Judges.  After the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Samuel Adams declared that the "reign of political protestantism" would commence in America.  Exactly what did Adams mean?  And how is his view different from what we are told about the founding of the United States today?

NOTR - Common Sense & The Book of Judges - 1.18.16

Today's Show: COMMON SENSE & THE BOOK OF JUDGES

Chris discusses some of the passages of Thomas Paine's famous pamphlet, Common Sense, as it relates to the Biblical Book of Judges.   Is it important today that some of the chief arguments which inspired the American Revolution came directly from the Bible?  And what lessons can we learn from the pages of Scripture about how God deals with His people who turn aside from His commandments, and begin to live in rebellion?  Is it possible that the struggles of our nation today find their meaning in the warnings of the past?
