We discuss the history of the word used by popes in centuries past, as a term for slaughtering heretics who were seen as enemies of the Church of Rome. Was it just a coincidence that the word was chosen to describe the tragic events of the Nazi regime?

Some have argued that such insults are not tolerated against Islam, and that Christianity is willing to tolerate it. But is that truly the case? We examine the historic case of the People v. Ruggles in 1811, and the arguments made by Chancellor James Kent against public blasphemy against the Christian religion. Kent argued that the protection of Christianity against such derision was a matter of common law in the Western world.
