NOTR - The Concept of Freedom in the West - 2.15.17

Chris continues the discussion about the promotion of Islamic slavery and rape from a Georgetown University professor, who teaches that "consent" is a Western idea.  What he really means is that it is a Christian idea, based on Biblical teaching.  We review the account in Genesis where Abraham sends his servant to find a wife for his son.  The Scripture shows that Rebekah's family specifically sought her consent before she went to marry Isaac.  Furthermore, the concept of freedom and liberty is specific to the Bible and the New Testament in particular.  Could this be the reason why personal liberty is so often emphasized in the Western world?

I think "consent" is a law written on the hearts of men. Look at any Bollywood or Asian film, the idea of boy meets girl, woos girl and girl accepts him is universal. But wicked people determined to have their own way, circumvent this law. I believe "non consent" is a doctrine of demons.
