NOTR - Resurrection Sunday - 4.2.18

Today's Show: RESURRECTION SUNDAY  - 4.2.2018

Chris discusses Resurrection Sunday (also known as "Easter") with a focus on the Biblical and historical accounts of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and its importance to our faith as believers.  What does the New Testament tell us about the doctrine of the resurrection?  Was the resurrection only a "spiritual" event, as some have asserted?  Or was Jesus raised up bodily from the dead?  Also, what have historians and researchers in the past had to say about the Gospel accounts given by the Apostles?  With all our Christian brethren, we celebrate -- He is risen!

NOTR - Resurrection Sunday - 4.17.17

Today's Show: RESURRECTION SUNDAY

Chris discusses some of the controversies surrounding the annual celebration of the Easter holiday, which is sometimes called "Resurrection Sunday."  The New Testament places an important emphasis on a believers' faith in the Resurrection of Christ, and the Apostle Paul argued it to be a critical component of salvation (Romans 10:9, 1 Corinthians 15:2,17).  Also discussed is some of the history behind the word "Easter" and whether or not it comes from a Pagan origin, along with recognition of the holiday itself.  Was Easter adopted in place of some pagan festival, or was the annual remembrance of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ observed by the early church?
