In a special one-hour program, Chris discusses the historic Magna Carta, considered the foundation of civil liberty in Western Civilization.  The great charter was based on Biblical principles and was set forth by the same English churchman (Stephen Langton) who was responsible for creating the chapter divisions in our Bibles.  The charter established the principle that no one, not even the king, was above the law.  Perhaps the most controversial element of the charter was the right of resistance, or the right to take up arms against the king if he violated the agreement.  Moreover, the rights of Magna Carta were declared to be in perpetuity, to last forever.  These principles are hot topics of discussion as we enter the New Year and hear continual warnings of approaching tyranny on the horizon, with Democrats threatening our national sovereignty and also the right to bear arms (something Magna Carta protects, since the people must be armed in order to resist the king). Will Socialism continue to threaten our Republic?  And will the situation in Virginia lead the country to a new revolution?

Chris discusses our national tradition of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ during the Christmas holiday.  For many, it is a time filled with holiday cheer and family gatherings; yet for others, they see what they perceive to be a corruption left over from the old pagan world.  Some say it is the feast of Saturnalia (even though the feast ended on December 23rd and had nothing to do with the 25th).  Yet others claim that Christmas trees are warned about in the book of Jeremiah and somehow represent Asherah poles from the ancient world (even though Jeremiah spoke of idols, and Asherah poles look nothing like Christmas trees).  Is Christmas really based on paganism?  Or is it an entirely Christian holiday developed by the early churches to remember the blessing that God has given to all people (Luke 2:10) through the birth of His Son?

Chris discusses a new story about how Christianity Today magazine published an article actually agreeing with the senseless attempt to impeach President Donald Trump, and called for his removal from office.  Furthermore, the magazine’s editor, Mark Galli chastised Evangelical Christians who support Trump, even invoking Billy Graham (the magazine’s original founder).  What he failed to mention is that Graham (like his son, Franklin) actually voted for Donald Trump in 2016.  Further investigation reveals that the magazine has for years departed from sound doctrine, promoting new age and effeminate views about God and Christ.  As far back as 1999, the magazine was reproved for depicting Christ “as a transsexual or transvestite.”  Meanwhile, editor Mark Galli has referred to God as a “divine drama queen” in his writings.
